Dodd Bill Would Hold Appraisers, Lenders Responsible

Legislation that would hold lenders responsible for flawed loans and appraisers responsible for improperly weighing the value of a property was introduced on November 11 by Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

Additonal Office

I have started the process of opening a new office to cover Coconino County in AZ, which will include Flagstaff the the surrounding area. Once I get established I intend also to be able to cover the Sedona area in Yavapai & Coconino Counties.

It should prove interesting as I will be traveling between Phoenix and Flagstaff regularly.

Resolution Addressing Appraisal Fraud Introduced in House
July 17th, 2007 10:04 AM
A bill that would raise awareness about the dangers of risky loans and protect homeowners from unscrupulous lending practices has been introduced in the House. Specifically, H.R. 526, introduced June 28, directs the government to address appraisal and other mortgage fraud. However, it does not spell out the manner or means by which it should do so.
